We’re pleased to welcome rising star Freya Beer to Ramsgate on December 2nd! Originating from West London but now residing on the south coast, she deftly mixes poetical lyrics with a distinctive and earthy rock sound.

Freya draws influence from Patti Smith, Bat for Lashes and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The brilliant John Robb even predicted a potential Mercury Prize in the near future…

Freya Beer self-released her debut single “Bike Boy” in 2018, followed by “Six Months”, leading to a BBC Introducing Live Lounge session and feature on Tom Robinson’s BBC Radio 6 show.

In 2019 Freya launched her own label Sisterhood Records and in February released “Dear Sweet Rosie”, which received incredible support on 6Music, notably on Marc Riley’s evening show where he also had Freya in for a live session.

The single was recorded in Manchester and accompanied by I Am Kloot‘s Andy Hargreaves on drums. The song draws from a number of literary influences including Allen Ginsberg’s ‘An Asphodel’ and Anna Sewell’s ‘Black Beauty’.

Support shows followed with Brix & The Extricated, Kristeen Young (who’s notably known for her work with David Bowie and Dave Grohl) and the acclaimed punk poet Dr. John Cooper Clarke.
