Back by very popular demand – JANUARY DREAD returns in 2023!
We’re blasting away the January blues with three of our favourite noise makers in the country: USA Nails, The Eurosuite and Punching Swans.
Immerse yourself in JANUARY DREAD on Saturday 21st January.
When you put together members or ex-members of Oceansize, Kong, Silent Front and Hawk Eyes you can pretty much guarantee you will end up with something pretty noisy… and probably kinda weird. So it is with USA Nails, a verifiable UK underground noise rock supergroup if ever there was one. They are gleefully complicit in the resurgent post-punk scene in London, particularly after supporting IDLES, Metz and Mclusky.
The Eurosuite specialise in fuzzy synth-punk drone music. The trio have put in stints for USA Nails, Petbrick, Yards, Silent Front, Death Pedals, The Ghost of a Thousand, Big Lad and lots more. We’re talking dentist-drill guitars, sarcastic vox, pounding rhythms and the rare ability not to overstay their welcome. The Eurosuite even manages to employ electronics in an organic manner, often standing in for what would normally be a guitar feeding back.
USA Nails: “Their loose, shouty drone-punk; rising, swerving and plunging like the soundtrack to a drunken helicopter chase” – Joy Zine
The Eurosuite: “The desperate, sleazy synth-pop of ‘Stimulate’ shows that The Eurosuite ain’t just miscreants with tinnitus” – Maximum Rock N Roll
Punching Swans: “Agile, visceral and straight to the point, it also displays a bizarre, off kilter sense of humour” – CLASH
