Longstanding Latin Quarter members Steve Skaith, Steve Jeffries and Mary Carewe are joined by cellist Anna Carewe to reimagine Latin Quarter songs from all across their many years as a band.
This will be Latin Quarter’s second visit to the Music Hall following their very successful gig in April 2023 that kicked off that 40th anniversary tour.
Latin Quarter first burst onto the music scene in 1986 with their hit single ‘Radio Africa’. It was a track from their debut album ‘Modern Times’ which was described by the New York Daily news as “one of the most exquisite electro-rock albums ever to come out of England”. Known for hard hitting, informed political lyrics and strong melodies, Latin Quarter went on to tour extensively and make 6 albums before splitting up in 1998.
However in 2012 the band reformed and have since made 5 new studio albums and a live album ‘Remember – On Stage at the Half Moon’. In 2023 they celebrated the 40th anniversary of their inception with a 6 piece electric tour. For 2024 however, it will be stripped down to an acoustic 4-piece.
