A unique tribute to Adam and the Ants on Friday 16th June!

Specialising in the early material, The Bootleg Ants will be performing Dirk Wears White Sox in its entirety, in addition to some fan favourites of the era…

“What is clear is how dedicated these two are to The Ants – a thoroughly enjoyable tribute”Kodak Ghosts Run Amok fanzine

The Bootleg Ants (a.k.a. XXVBD) make fresh studio recordings of the vast pre-fame output of Adam and the Ants, often based on demos and bootleg tapes. The band comprises longtime Antfans Ciaron Marlow and David Tombesi-Walton. Ciaron’s Ant pedigree is second to none: when Marco Pirroni opted not to play live with his band The Wolfmen, he chose Ciaron to stand in for him. David has no such claim to make, but he has met Adam Ant once or maybe twice.

The band is now heading out to play a small number of live shows. Expect none of the big hits and no white stripes across noses! This is an homage to the 1970s era of The Ants, all spiky artpunk and fetishism, playing songs with titles such as Ligotage, Bathroom Function, I Nietzsche Baby, Whip In My Valise, and Red Scab. If you like punk and/or Adam and the Ants, this is for you.
