THE DANCE 005Â – TICKETS
On Saturday 6th July, we mark our fifth event at Ramsgate Music Hall so we thought it suitable to deliver something special. A Motown, Northern Soul and Rare Groove celebration for all of our Cinque Ports movers and shakers with the Deptford Northern Soul Club and special guest, Jo Wallace.
Formed in 2016 by lifelong friends William Foot and Lewis Henderson, Deptford Northern Soul Club set out to distance themselves from the pretence often associated with the Northern Soul scene. DNSC’s aim is to to deliver fresh and exciting journeys to the next generation of Northern Soul lovers whilst offering something different (and gimmick free) to the old school fans across the UK & Ireland, uniting them in the process. Following a successful monthly residency at London’s Bunker Club in Deptford, over the last three years they have been invited to perform at Nottinghill Arts Club, Peckham Soul, Deptford Pride, End of the Road Festival, Norman Jay’s Good Times Carnival Party, Green Man Festival and a stand -out performance on Glastonbury’s William’s Green tent. These performances garnered glowing reviews and as a result, support slots came in for The Manic Street Preachers and Sleaford Mods shows too. Now into their 4th year, they have a bi-monthly residency at Brixton Jamm, a monthly residency at YES in Manchester and regular appearances at Headrow House in Leeds and Menagerie in Belfast alongside summer appearances at the UK’s biggest festivals.
Joining the boys on the night will be legendary Thanetian DJ, broadcaster and (multiple) record label boss, Jo Wallace. There really isn’t much that Jo hasn’t done in the music industry and the breadth and depth of her soul and Motown knowledge runs way beyond this short event copy can do justice. A true trailblazer. Our recommendation is to come and hear for yourself as she delivers a special 60 years of Motown set. What a treat.
Set over two intimate floors, Ramsgate Music Hall has set itself apart with a wide genre offering over a consistently solid programme. With it’s D&B sound system, this really will be a wonderful voyage through some of the genres most enthralling tracks.
THE DANCE has been created for the party people of Kent, so see you on the dancefloor.
