We’re extremely excited to welcome the tremendous US outfit THUS LOVE to Ramsgate on April 3rd!
THUS LOVE’s new album All Pleasure is full of nourishing euphoria. It swoons, shakes, and swaggers with a combination of grit and sensuality that’s been hard to locate in music lately. It fills your brain with barbed melodic hooks that once they sink in don’t budge. It punches at the clouds and makes you want to do the same.
“Every song is a mini masterpiece of despair, acceptance and revival” – Loud and Quiet
THUS LOVE is a band—but also so much more. The Brattleboro, Vermont group stands together, a bond cemented by their experience as outsiders looking in. For THUS LOVE, DIY is an ethos that reflects not only their musical vision but their very existence as trans/queer artists. From the beginning, the band have lived together under the same roof, designed and produced their own merch, and even created their own recording studio from scratch.Â
The band’s sonic hallmarks will be unmistakable to anyone who has ever obsessed over classic LPs from indie and post-punk’s progenitors—everything from the chiming, Marr-esque guitars on opener ‘Repitioner’ to the pugnacious rhythmic punch on lead single ‘In Tandem’. But even more impressive and exciting is how THUS LOVE manage to tap into this celebrated lineage to find their own unique voice and tell their own story. Of seeking meaning in struggle. Of embracing community and love. Of finding joy in rebirth.Â
“With elements of goth, punk, pop and indie rock all fused to create something new, Thus Love are comfortably the best group to have come out of the US in the last two years” – Live 4 Ever
“One could call Thus Love a guitar band, such is the glorious and varied soundscapes produced so often led by bass and guitar. But it does not do them justice. They are so much more than that” – CLASH
