Join us for a one-off celebration of musical bohemian decadence, deep singer-songwriter musings, poetry galore and troubadour madness with some of the most exciting poetry and music bohemians of the area.

Featuring Gabriel Moreno, Ned Cartwright, Violet Malice, Alex Gillings + Joni Belaruski from The Great Malarkey, and Ty Watling.

Gabriel Moreno is a Gibraltarian poet and singer songwriter. After periods spent living in Barcelona, New York and across South America, he currently resides in London. He has been likened to poetical singers such as Nick Cave, Bill Callahan and Leonard Cohen, and has released four albums to date, including the most recent, The Year of the Rat. Released in February of this year, it has received rave reviews and airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music, and Gabriel has since been busy touring it across the country with The Quivering Poets, including a sold out launch show at London’s Tower Theatre. He is also Cultural Ambassador of Gibraltar.

Ned Cartwright (Eduardo Cartuchos) is an acclaimed pianist who accompanies and creates with some of the most interesting singer-songwriters in the UK scene including Louis Brennan, Jeremy Tuplin, Heartworn Highways, among many others. He is trained in classical music and in the arts of nocturnal.

Violet Malice has been writing poetry for ages despite encouragement not to. She likes reading it out loud in front of people, so she can see their tiny faces looking back at her. She has performed on some quite big stages (size wise) but prefers small, badly ventilated bars. She is not the Poet Laureate nor is she anything to do with animal husbandry.

Alex Gillings and Joni Belaruski are the core of band The Great Malarkey. A stunning duo of musicians who bring raw energy, bohemia, top songwriting and musical class to the stage. Drawing on their experience of over six years of extensive touring, with shows at Bestival (UK), the London Olympics, Boomtown (UK), Colours of Ostrava (CZ), Tønder Festival (DK), to name but a few, and mainstream airplay in both the UK and Denmark, The Great Malarkey continue to delight audiences across the UK and Europe with their explosive ‘balls to the wall’.

Ty Watling is a Kent based top class Guitarist and Singer/Songwriter. Over the past few years he has built his reputation around the festivals and clubs of the South East of England, performing his deep, personalized strand of Americana/Alternative Folk/Troubadour music. He has opened for acclaimed singer-songwriters including Richard Thompson, Julie Felix, Emily Barker and others. His songs are crafted with beauty and precision and he has the magical ability to transmit emotions directly. His new album is about to hit the UK waves.

“Gabriel Moreno is the pied piper of London’s underground folk scene – wherever he lays his hat, local acts follow – and his music treats everyone like an equal” Secret Meeting

“A seductive, acoustic, outpouring of hope in a dark place, Gabriel Moreno looks to the UK’s future with a humble, sanguine spark of light. For fans of Bob Dylan, Beans on Toast, Frank Turner”Mitch Mosk, Atwood Magazine
